1) Do not bet on teams, that you don't know. Each time you do that, it is only pure lottery. Each match requires at least shallow analysis.
2) Be aware of the beginning of the season. Check the player changes in the team, check, whether the coach wasn't changed and so on. Many times in the past has the dark horse of the last season become an average team of this season (and just when you placed your bet on it ;-)). Other team can be changed in positive direction - outsider of the last season is in the upper third of the statistics table for a long term...
3) Be aware of the Cup Championships. Try to find on internet or on any other medium, whether the ambitions of the team for this season are objective in the league, or they will only try to shine in the Cup matches. Many times better teams of the league do not form perfect formation for cup match and in the contrary - worse team of the league will build the best of best formation and that can change your outcome prediction... Having this information can be useful for decision to bet on worse team in league - better in cup match.
4) Home environment is the element that can change your decision - on whom to bet, or whether to assure your bet with double chance.
5) Watch the statistical tables objectively. Don't try to determine possible winner of the match just from the numbers seen in the table. These can be very subjective, and really say nothing, especially in the very beginning of the season. Look at which team has won over which team, and where all those points are (or surprisingly are not) from ... The worse team could earn the points by winning over newcomers of the league, and fixed star of the league could loose with other fixed stars...
6) International matches are very popular for tippers. But except the table force of the team, you should take into account even the force of the home environment. Not only for the home fans support, but even for possible climate differences. For example - perfect team from the south of the Europe can 'freeze' playing away, in some northern country, with team which is accustomed to the home climate.
7) Don't try to push to your combo bet matches that you have excluded in the beginning of building your slip. The reason, why you excluded them still lasts... A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
